More than 80 years ago on a family farm on the Maumee River east of Fort Wayne, the Irvings dipped gravel for road base and thus began the successful history of an innovative, quality-conscious, customer-oriented business. Through the years, as specifications for construction aggregates have become increasingly stringent, Irving Ready Mix, Inc. has been in the forefront with equipment and facilities to satisfy customer needs. Examples include among the earliest screening and washing plants in the area.  Today, Irving Ready Mix, Inc. continues to invest in the most technologically advanced systems and equipment to maintain and enhance their enviable position in the industry.

Following World War II in 1948, seeing the emerging need and growth potential for ready-mixed concrete, Irving Ready-Mix, Inc. was formed. Now one of the Fort Wayne area's two largest producers, the company has grown and prospered on the basis of delivering a top-quality product with exceptional customer service at competitive price. Through the years, Irving Ready Mix, Inc. has not only made the capital investments necessary in plants and equipment to meet growth potential, but has contributed any number of innovative concepts which have become industry standards. Among these are front discharge ready-mix trucks, sand heaters for winter operations and fully integrated computer systems for ordering, batching and delivering concrete.

In 1979 Irving Ready Mix, Inc. acquired the Trans-Flo product line from a firm in Wisconsin that was focusing its attention on other products. Irving Ready Mix, Inc. had made use of Trans-Flo Motor Blowers for unloading cement and fly ash from bulk trucks and moving to storage facilities. They also used Trans-Flo Transfer Systems to move cement and fly ash from storage to batching. They knew the advantages Trans-Flo systems had to offer. Over the years Trans-Flo has "fine-tuned" its product line and expanded size ranges to better meet the needs of ready-mix producers everywhere. It's another Irving Ready Mix, Inc. success story.
