Irving Ready-Mix, Inc. made its mark in concrete history in 1948. Jim Irving, President / C.E.O. of the family business, started this rewarding experience after succeeding his father, Ralph.

The concrete industry has changed dramatically since the company delivered

its first 22 yards of concrete. Many of these changes are attributed to Jim and his innovative concepts. Among them, front discharge ready-mix trucks, sand heaters for winter operations, fully integrated computer systems for ordering, batching and deliverying concrete to better serve his customers. Recognized by competitors and peers for his many industry contributions, he was given the first E.B. Rayburn Jr. award for excellence in marketing in 1978 and inducted into the Indiana Ready-Mix Hall of Fame in 1986.

Presently the company has six plants in four strategic locations throughout the Fort Wayne area. An up-to-date fleet of Advance Mixers, manufactured in Fort Wayne, are stationed at each concrete plant.
